Balkanauto - UX/UI design platform for auction sales of vehicles
UX design prototype
Balkanauto auction sale is a web platform for the auction sale of used vehicles. My task was to design and implement a UX/UI solution that allows users to efficiently search, browse, and participate in auctions, with a special focus on ease of use and optimization of the bidding process.

The goal of the project
The goal of redesigning the Auction Sales platform was to enhance the existing user experience through the modernization of the interface and optimization of key functionalities. The existing solution was visually outdated, with cluttered forms, unclear flows, and a lack of standardized design principles. By using modern UX/UI practices, we aimed to increase clarity, reduce users' cognitive load, and facilitate intuitive navigation through all steps of the auction process.
The redesign had a clear purpose – to reduce the number of errors during the use of the platform, retain existing users, and create a foundation for attracting new ones. The old interface often led to frustration and abandonment of the bidding process, which directly affected the system's performance. The focus was on simplifying user flows, establishing a clear hierarchy of information, and compliance with industry standards to create a functional and professional platform.

Introduction to the platform redesign
During the initial conversation with the client, the goal was to identify the key reasons for initiating the redesign process of the existing platform. It turned out that the design was outdated, and a large number of functionalities had been added over time without a clear structure and plan, which significantly disrupted the user experience.
One of the main challenges was to maintain continuity for existing users who have been accustomed to a certain look and workflow in the system for years. Therefore, it was decided that, wherever possible, elements of the old system should be retained or modified so that the transition to the new interface does not require additional user training.
Research, planning, and design process
After defining the goals of the redesign, I moved on to the research phase.
The first step was to create several user personas based on existing user data and feedback, in order to better understand the needs and habits of the main user segments.
Next, detailed planning of the platform's structure followed, in accordance with the specified requirements and business objectives of the project.
To accurately map user behavior through the platform, I created user flow diagrams for different usage scenarios.

Based on those flows, I developed wireframe models and low-fidelity prototypes that served as the basis for further development and testing. This approach allowed all key functionalities to be systematized and visualized early in the design phase, which significantly facilitated later iterations and collaboration with the client.

After creating low-fidelity prototypes, internal testing was conducted with the client's team to receive initial feedback on the logic and usability of the design. Based on the comments, certain changes were made to the structure of elements and the layout of information.
At the same time, work began on high-fidelity prototypes that accurately represented the visual identity of the future platform. These prototypes provided a clearer idea of the final look and behavior of the system, and they also served as a basis for validating the design with end users through usability tests.

Implementation and collaboration with the team
Throughout the entire implementation phase, I closely collaborated with the development team, providing design guidelines, UI components, and the corresponding design system. Through regular meetings and synchronizations, it was ensured that all elements were consistently implemented, respecting UX principles and design specifications.
I also collaborated with the customer support team to identify additional challenges faced by users that were not evident during the research phase. This further contributed to optimizing certain parts of the platform.
The result of the redesign is a platform that has maintained the familiar structure for existing users, but with significantly improved user experience, a more modern visual identity, and a more logical usage flow.
